Welcome to what is perhaps the most awkward page of all pages on this website, wherein one talks of one’s self in a covert attempt to convince you of one’s character and worth (whilst pretending not to). I’ve come to learn that I can only ever effectively do this by presenting a ‘caricature’ of one’s self. A somewhat ridiculous avatar of amplified authenticity, wherein we get to play with the tensions of authority & approachability, irony & sincerity, naïveté & knowingness, and so on. Thus you’ll see—under the guise of Dr Jason Fox (a persona I embody better than anyone)—I can get away with so much more.
Who is Dr Jason Fox?
They say he plays dice with Loki (badly), that Hermes once gave him a high-five (crisp), that he does coffee with Lady Fortuna on a semi-regular basis, and that Odin’s ravens both think his beard is ‘not bad’. Rumour has it he once sneaked into the Ivory Towers of several arch-wizards, stealing their spell books—only to scatter the magical pages amidst the wind. They call him a wizard, a rogue, and some whisper that he is secretly a field kitsune with three, maybe four tails, and that his skyship—The Cleverness—is actually an allusion.
Actually no one says any of that. Nonetheless:
