Earlier this year Kim and I put on an event to raise funds for a magnificent charity — Hands Across The Water.
Originally inspired by Darren Hill (who ran The Future of Teamwork for Hands Across The Water in 2013), this event saw Daz and myself invite a bunch of our mates to share their perspective on The Future of Leadership.
Here's the video Kim (the dangerlam) put together for the event.
We had no idea how popular it would be. Tickets sold out in just two weeks — about half a thousand sold before the early bird period even finished. And what's more:
All funds raised, and every single dollar from all tickets sold, went straight to the charity.
This wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for our wonderful sponsors — Suncorp and The Centre for Workplace Leadership, who covered all venue and catering costs. We also had the support of volunteers who contributed their time throughout the day.
So hurrah! Beers and skittles all round. Also —
We filmed it too.
Yup, that's right. For your edification and enjoyment, all of the speakers had their sessions recorded (sans myself, as I was playing the dastardly role of emceeing the day).
Here they are in order of appearance.
Talk about being inspired by the company you keep!
We're super lucky to have such wonderful mates.
Righto — given how successful this year's event was, we're doing it again in 2015. Here's another 'lamination' the wonderful dangerlam put together for us — a sneak peek at good things to come.
We're going to be shaking the formula up a bit next year.
In addition to bringing on thought leading experts, we're thinking about mixing in some champion intrapreneurs — clients and mates we have within organisations that are leading the future of workplace culture. We might even run a few hypotheticals and get some audience panel participation.
In any event: fun times ahead!
Would you like to be kept in the loop?
Given that our Future of Leadership event sold out in just two weeks, it's quite likely our next event will sell out even faster.
So, if you'd like to be kept in the loop — and get the latest insights in motivation and the future of work — subscribe to our museletter, and I'll be sure to let you know soonest.
